Howdo, all. Just downloaded the 30-day free trial of v6.2, with a view to purchasing in a few weeks, and thought I would register here and say hello. First use of any genealogy software - had previously used Excel and lots of pieces of paper.

Very impressed so far with the amount of support available, both from Calico Pie Ltd and this great user group.

Welcome to the FHUG Colin.

If you have not discovered it already then take a look at how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers initially the Documentation & Tutorials but don't overlook all the other topics, especially Ancestral Sources.

If you need specifically FH advice then please post in the General Usage Forum.

Many thanks for the welcome, Mike, and the Knowledge Base suggestions. I'm only slowly coming to terms with how potentially complex and customisable FH is, having only previously used databases that were already very strictly (and narrowly) defined.

I'm looking forward to working my way through the tutorials.

Regards,

Colin.
