* Gedcom census - flags

I'm fairly new to FH and its doing everthing I want and more! I'm trying to get to grips with flags on a copy file at the moment. I particularly like the idea of census flags ie 41,51 etc in diagrams. I'm also want to get to grips with Gedcom census as I've got plenty of census info to input.
Question....Should I get to grips with flags - census icons and incorporate these into my family file first, before starting on the Gedcom census learning curve and input? Or should it be vice versa?
I hope that makes sense.

Also having got various icons on a diagam I haven't found out as yet how to stitch them off. I've switched them off on individuals but I'm looking to switch off en masse on diagrams.

The latest version of GC can add flags it's self. To flag older data you can use a query to two to set the flags,rather than doing it manually.

Personally I would use GC to add some census data and then look at what it has done with flags and replicate that to the older data.

Just to clarify, Gedcom Census will add flags to existing census entries too. Once you have told Gedcom Census to associate flags with particular dates or years you can use the Flag Check option which tells Gedcom Census to go through your file adding the flags where appropriate. You can also set this to automatically run everytime you open your family history file. Therefore if you open other family history files it will also automatically allocate the flags to those too (unless you turn off the auto-flag feature).

Why not just give it a go with your test file and see how you get on.
