Gedcom Census 5.4 installation error

When installing the latest version of Gedcom Census, I got the following error message:

'C:WINDOWSsystem32msvbvm60.dll
The existing file is marked as read-only.
Click Retry to remove the read-only attribute and try again, Ignore to skip this file, or Abort to cancel installation.'

I clicked 'Retry' and CG seemed to install OK, but might this be a problem?

I'm running WinXP SP2.

No I don't think it will be a problem, Gedcom Census installs the latest version of that file. I also don't think it would be a problem if you clicked ignore.

I suspect your ISP must have cached a damaged copy.

As the article suggests try leaving it a couple of days till the ISP cache is cleared.

another option if you are on dial-up is that there is some sort of connection time limit on your account.

Just to clarify for anyone else reading this who might be concerned, the issue reported by wini isn't an error with Gedcom Census, it is just a problem that wini is having downloading the file. The original issue reported by 'gladtobegrey' wasn't an error either, it was just a warning that Gedcom Census was replacing a system file with a more up-to-date version.

Wini - if you would like to send me a message (through this website) with your email address in it, I can email you the Gedcom Census program if you still have trouble downloading the file and don't want to wait for the cache at your ISP to clear.
