How do I insert an age in months rather than years? I haven't found a way of doing this. Maybe I'm just thick?

Once you have entered an age, left clicking on the 'Y' cycles between 'Y', 'M' & 'D'.

Double click an age field and the Age Entry Assitant will pop up. In this window you can enter years, months, and days. You can also specify less than or greater than which are advanced features of Gedcom. The 'Child', 'Infant', and 'Stillborn' are only for use in ages on death and indicate that the child was <8, <2 or <0 years old at death.

If you are more a typist, then you can just enter an age such as 22y 8m 9d for 22 years, 8 months and 9 days old. Y, m, or d trailing a number specifies that number of years, months or days.

As a general note, whenever you see a button with '...' following a field if you click it, you get additional help in entry of that field. Dates bring up the date assistant, places the place assistant and ages the age assistant, and other fields bring up a note window.

Hi Jon

Just to clarify, this is the Gedcom Census forum so the question was answered by Patrick.

Cheers
