GC6.0.6 and ACTIVflipchartviewer?

Post by GladToBeGrey » 27 Apr 2009 09:16

I ran up GC this morning for the first time in some while, to be greeted by a message that says it's trying to configure an application called ACTIVflipchart viewer. Is this a component of GC?; I can find no mention of it in the help.

In case it might be, I downloaded the GC6.0.6 installation package from FHUG afresh and tried to reinstall, but I still got the same messages on reinstallation ....

Finally I uninstalled ACTIVflipchart viewer (it was on my system, but had to resort to Windows Install Cleanup utility to get rid of it) and then reinstalled GC, which now appears to be a clean, working install. ACTIVflipchart viewer hasn't reappeared.

I'm guessing something local to my machine got its knickers in a twist, but would appreciate confirmation whether GC does/doesn't use this app?
Thanks

I have seen this before, I think Nick uses install shield to build installs and sometimes if an earlier install shield install fails a subsequent one keeps loading the original one.

As you discovered cleaning out windows temp fixes the problem.

Actually I use Inno Setup. But yes I can confirm that ActivFlipChart is not used by GC.

Best wishes
