Yesterday worked fine, when starting program today it went through the process og loading gedcom file and program icon appeared in the task bar but program would not open. Tried reinstalling to no avail. No error messages appeared the only thing out of the ordinary is the program icon as in screen shot. Clicking on icon or thumbail has no effect.
Help please!

Have you used your computer with more than one screen recently?

If so you may have accidentally left GC on the second screen, if you right click on the task bar icon do you have a Move option? If so try taking it and holding down the left arrow to drag the window back.

If you know how to access the registry you could run Regedit, navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareGedcom Census

Make sure Gedcom Census is closed and then delete the 5 registry settings that start with the word Main, i.e. Main Height, Main Width, Main Top, Main Left, Main Maximised

That should cause Gedcom Census start on the screen.

Glad to hear it worked. This does imply that Gedcom Census had been moved off the screen in some way as removing those settings made it start up in the default location. Thanks Jane for spotting what the problem was!
