Order of items in drop down list (Census)

I have created a template for IOM 1901 & 1911 census with a laguage option as last column.
I have created a drop down list of the three options available.
This next behaaviour happens with my drop downs, but also with the already configured ones for employment (in all relevent years)
The very first entry line, the drop down list items appear in the order given in the template.
on the next and subsequent lines, the item order is completely different (although as far as I can tell they are all the same as each other)
This may or may not happen with the relationship column, but as this is mostly pre-filled it is not so critical.
The where born column in 1841 is also the same.

I can get something similar, but not exactly as described above.

Initially, all drop-down lists, on all individual grid lines, are presented as defined in the template.
Select an Occupation for any individual grid line.
Then the next drop-down list selected is presented sorted into alphabetical order.
Thereafter, all drop-down lists revert to the template order, until an Occupation is entered.
This behaviour applies to all drop-down lists.

The above applies to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and AS v2.0.0 64-bit.
I have not tried Vista nor XP yet.

Thanks for reporting this. It appears to be a bug in the .Net framework. Someone else has reported it to Microsoft.

The occupation column is the only one that is sorted. So because of this bug if you click on the occupation column then the next column you click on will appear sorted. The next time you click on it it will appear unsorted as expected.

The only obvious solution that I can see to this is to make the occupation column unsorted, but this would probably cause more irritation to people than leaving it as it is. This is the first time this issue has been reported to me so its obviously not something that has bothered people.

Thanks again

Nick

Perhaps the opposite would be better.
If All drop downs were sorted alphabetically, then at least it would consistant every time.
