Unrelated Individual

Post by GeorgeBush » 11 Mar 2012 19:22

I have just tried to add an unrelated individual in a census entry and found that the box for adding the name is missing the 'OK', 'Cancel' and 'Help', buttons.I have AS v.2.0.0 and 64 bit Windows 7.
In case it matters I have recently(since I last used AS) uninstalled McAfee Internet Security due to a problem with updating IncrediMail.
My inclination is to just install AS again, but I wonder if I should uninstall it first?

You do not need to uninstall AS.

There was a known problem with those buttons that came to light with testing AS V3.0.0.

To check it out use Tools > Customise > Font and choose Tahoma, Regular, 8 and click OK twice.
This should restore AS to its default fonts and reveal the buttons.

Even, better would be to download AS V3.0.0 (64-bit version) from this web site and install it over V2.0.0.
Full details are in the Knowledge Base at Utility ~ Ancestral Sources V3.0.0.

Please install version 3. You should find there are numerous improvements including a fix for that particular issue.

Best wishes

Thanks Nick and Mike. Installing ASv.3 took only seconds and now everything works fine.
