Buying a new computer.

I note from the HELP section of the software that AS was tested with Win7 but it does not specifically say that it was tested with the 64 bit as well as the 32 bit.

Is AS compatible with the 64 bit operating system?

If you look at the top right of the Home page you will see both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of AS are available.
See Ancestral Sources V3.0.0 for full details.

I've noticed you've asked the question about both programs. I use 64-bit OS and have been for a while. I have never found a single issue with any program. In fact, I run plenty of programs which only have a 32-bit available.

It's really no different, just download the 64 bit programs where available and don't worry about it otherwise.

Apart from Internet Explorer 64 bit, don't even bother downloading that, it doesn't work as well as the 32 bit version.

Just beware that whereas 64-bit programs install as usual in C:Program Files all 32-bit programs install in C:Program Files (x86).

Ancestral Sources is fully 64 bit compatible as others have said and has been extensively tested on 64 bit computers.

The only problems you might see are if you use older devices such as scanners or printers that don't have 64 bit drivers. Also if you have old software which work directly with devices, e.g. DVD recording software, then you may have issues if they are not 64 bit compatible or Windows 7 compatible. But other than that you should find no problems.

Thank you all for your input. I had not want to change to 64bit processing if it was to adversely impact on my use of FH and AS.
