AS Flags

Post by rodit » 07 Aug 2012 06:55

When I open AS, I get the following message. The 1851 census is always omitted, although the others are inserted as normal.

Regards

Hi

I do apologise for not replying earlier. I didn't spot this post before tonight, not sure why.

Before doing this, I must warn you that you need to be careful when accessing the registry and don't delete or change anything unless you know what you are doing! I'd also suggest running Tools->Backup AS Options... before doing this to get a copy of your AS settings.

It is difficult to know what has gone wrong here, but I'm assuming the 1851 setting has got corrupted in some way. If you run c:windowsregedit and then navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAncestral SourcesCensus Flags

You should see various yellow sub-keys named Flag1, Flag2, etc. Open up each of these until you see the one that refers to the 1851 census and then delete the key e.g. if it is under Flag2 then delete the yellow Flag2 key.

If you need more info on how to do this then please drop me an email (Nick AT ancestralsources.com) and I'll send you some more detailed instructions.

Hopefully this will solve the problem. Try opening an closing AS a few times to confirm this.

Best wishes

Nick
