Marriage and Banns
The section in Knowlege Base called Ancestral Sources auto-text Templates for Marriages, and Banns advises me to download: “Ancestral Sources auto-text Templates for Marriages and Banns” to work with these templates. Where do I download the templates, too, and how do I work with them in Ancestral Sources?
Could someone point me in the right direction, please?
Lyn

Hi, Bill
That is the link I am working with but as I am only new at this I don't know where I have to save these files after I download them. There is about four or five template files once I extract them. I don't know what to do next.
Thanks Lyn

Hi Lyn,
Sorry... I misread your original message.
You can download them and save them anywhere you wish. Then open Ancestral Sources and use Tools > Autotext Template Editor.
Then select the Source type and then click on the Import button and find the template to import.

Re: Marriage and Banns
Hi All
As a beginner, I have struggled with this Marriage and Banns. I managed to work out that I needed to import the new template by copying and pasting in text information of the file into the AS Template Text Box. I started to enter the relevant Marriage Information and then edited the transcription to suit. My next problem arose when I went to save the information plus the images I had imported from my private D: and saved them under a new folder of Marriages/Marriages and Banns. It would not save and transfer to My FH Project until I fixed the file paths. Unable to see any errors, I deleted the images from AS, and it worked. I then imported the images to my FH Project.
I had no problems at all with the AS England Census images so I have no idea why this Marriage caused me so much trouble. As I said I am a newbie.

When you say "it would not save until I fixed the file paths", can you reply to this and paste in a screen shot (or series of screenshots) to illustrate the messages that AS gave you that made you think the file paths needs to be fixed.
Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick
Sorry, I couldn't work out how to post an image on the forum. I usually add an attachment to an email but with this forum, it wouldn't even allow me to copy and paste the image.
Regards

Re: Marriage and Banns
Lyn sent me a screenshot via email (which shows she is having trouble because the image path is over 260 characters long) and I've replied to her with an explanation as to how to solve this.
