Hi Nick,
On one of my computers windows defender has suddenly decided that AS 7.8 contains the bearfoos. A!ml trojan and has quarantined the program

Yes sometimes anti-virus does this kind of thing. It's quite frustrating - needless to say it doesn't contain any trojans or viruses and it does make me angry that these companies can make false accusations like this. On the other hand, anti-virus has a difficult job to do and are bound to make mistakes sometimes.

Does it do this when you're trying to install AS? Or is this when you run it?

I've just downloaded AS again and installed it and ran it without Windows Defender complaining. I've checked for updates. This is the version it is showing currently:

Had no problem with Windows Defender last Saturday when I installed AS 7.8.0

Hi Nick,
Sorry, I was away from my computer all day yesterday.

Download was OK, it was when I ran AS for about the fourth time that defender stepped in and deleted (Quarantined) AS.
Defender is up to date.
I have just unquarantined As, so we will see what happens this morning.

I have no idea how to report a false positive for defender, so I used the feedback hub

EDIT: Update, I have had no problems since Un Quarantining AS. All OK So far.
