Adding Ref I.D. to Long and Short Titles

Post by Little.auk » 01 Aug 2023 10:36

Hi Nick,

I am using the Strathclyde source citation format so, for example, A census entry Long Title would look like -

Census : England : Radford, Nottinghamshire : 30 March 1851 : BEST, Elizabeth : [A0072-00] : PN HO107/2130. FL 119. SN 109. ED 2d. p. 33.

and a Short Title -

Census : 1851 : BEST, Elisabeth : [A0072-00] : PN HO107/2130. FL 119. SN 109. ED 2d. p. 33.

The section in bold is the census entry reference which I put in the Ref ID field. I can set everything else up in the Source Title template, but I can't find a way to add the Ref ID field, so I am cutting and pasting from the Ref ID field. Is there a way to set this up in the Template, if not could it be added?

Hi Peter

From what you're saying I'm assuming you're just using generic sources and setting up the short and long titles in the AS Options screen. Just put the {REF} keyword into the title template (it's actually there in the default title templates):
