Death records
When adding a death record to AS I've noticed that sometimes, the individual's father and mother are marked with blue so that they can't be used. Is it possible to change this so they can be recorded if necessary please?

Re: Death records
I don't really understand what you're asking. When you add an individual to a death entry it shows you the parents and spouse and you can click them if they are referred to in the entry. Not sure what you mean by "marked with blue"?

Can you share a screenshot showing this?

Re: Death records
Does John mean this:
That's blue highlights, but the default action.
I am able to change between ".....not referred" or the correct one?
Highlighting them (in blue) means I am using them for the record, as per the 'hint' at the top of the window

See screenshot:
Presuming that if in blue you can't put the people there? It assumes that you don't know!

Re: Death records
Per Neil's screenshot, if one / both parents are known and recorded within FH, then they would be shown here - in your screenshot, neither parent is recorded within FH and so you only get "...is not referred to..." option.
Where they are recorded and selected in this screen, the Family tab is populated - I'm guessing from your initial post, you want the tab enabled at all times and have the ability to add a "new" parent that isn't already recorded within FH?.

Re: Death records
The screenshot indicates this person doesn't have any parents recorded yet in your file.
If you select the deceased person in Ancestral Sources and they don't have a parent recorded then you can then choose the 'Add Parents...' link on the right and add their parents. Then add the individual to the entry again and you will be given the option to include the parents in the entry.
