Add Images Forgetting previous folders
I noticed the other day that for some reason, AS (7.7.2 64-bit) was going to the wrong folder for given census images (Add Image), where previously it went to the specific one for the year (I have separate ones by year). It seemed to pick the wrong census year folder, but I thought I'd just done something daft. However, it occurred for several years that came up. It seems to fix itself once I've added an image from the correct folder.
Having played around a bit, it may just be that the saved locations got scrubbed on the update and I didn't see/realise this was the case, so by default offering the last used folder until an image has been selected from a folder.

Re: Add Images Forgetting previous folders
Information about individual folders for entries is stored on a per project and per computer basis. It saves it to a settings file in the project itself. I can't check the location of this right now as I'm at work but it has ancestral sources as part of the title and it is an xml file. So if that file was removed or the name of your computer has changed, then that would explain it. If you have a look at the file you may be able to see what's going on, but feel free to email it to me if you're not sure.
Cheers

I think this is the file Nick means:
...\Family Historian Projects\Projectname\Projectname.fh_data\Plugin Data\Ancestral Sources.appdata\ASProjectOptions.xml
...\Family Historian Projects\Projectname\Projectname.fh_data\Plugin Data\Ancestral Sources.appdata\ASProjectOptions.xml

It all looks fine, and correct, except some are missing, so there must have been a clear out on upgrade or some-such. I don't recall them being cleared previously (may not have been concentrating). The others are present because I've been through and added various census images. Not really a problem as it resolves itself over time and usage.

Re: Add Images Forgetting previous folders
AS hasn't cleared it out on upgrade
Re: Add Images Forgetting previous folders
Do you use FH/AS on more than one computer? If so does the file have folders for the other one?

Re: Add Images Forgetting previous folders
In which case, it's just very odd, but fixing itself with use. If AS didn't clear out and I didn't change anything re computer or files, then it's one of 'those' weird things. I did notice all the entries in the file are duplicate, one with and one without the Computer="" attribute.
Anyway, no drama, just a mystery.

Re: Add Images Forgetting previous folders
These are the last paths used by AS regardless of computer. If AS opens the project on a different/new computer that is not referenced in the file then AS will first of all try the path references in the entries without the Computer attribute if the path exists on the new PC. Quite often the paths are not the same across computers, particularly if the Windows user account has a different user profile folder name. e.g. on one computer I am nickw on another I'm nick so the paths don't match.
