Hi Nick,

There was a discussion some time ago (which, as normal, went a bit off track quite quickly!) about the Author field used in Generic Sources. The discussion was here: Recording Source Author, Type & Publication Information in AS (14034).

In your reply in the discussion you said that Ancestral Sources does not use the Author field. You gave a workaround but it would be a bit clumsy to use all the time. Would there be any possibility of adding the Author field into AS at some point, please?

I've found a workaround by using the Reference ID / Publication Info field, and then going into the source in FH and swapping it from PI to Author. This works because I only use both fields in about 50% of sources. However, it would be much easier to have the Author field in AS if possible, as I sometimes forget to go and swap them!
