Repository when adding images

How do I define a repository for a document image being added to an existing citation when adding the image? Also, is it be possible to filter the list of sources when adding an image so as to be able to locate more quickly the source to which to add the image - with several thousand citations, locating the correct one can be a little time consuming?

Unless I am missing something here (quite possible!), when you use the "Existing" function to add an Image via AS it is being added to an existing Source record - that Source record will already (normally) have a Repository named on it.

Yes, but the associated images may be from different places. For example, one may have a repository of the National Archives and an additional image may have a repository of a local archive. The intention is to define the locations where original images may be viewed.

In that case you would need to add another Source record and I don't believe that can be done using AS unless adding a new Fact.

How would you link an image to a repository in Family Historian?

BTW: As an aside, in FH V7 a Source Record can have two Repository links as specified in GEDCOM 5.5.1.

Also, it is possible to add a Source Citation to a Media Record and that separate Source Citation can have a Repository.
This is perhaps the way images from different locations should be handled, but not by using AS as it can only be done in FH.

Thanks Mike. A second repository against the source is probably what I will use.

If you were to use templated sources such as those in the essentials collection you can link a repository and also specify a collection (such as Ancestry.co.uk) and url. There is an Ancestral Sources video explaining how to use templated sources here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yxPQH ... ysUJMaQUll
