Check for Updates
Sorry if I have missed how to do this, but is it possible to switch off checking for updates automatically? I can see in the Help file that AS checks every seven days, however I don't wish to upgrade yet and I don't need reminding. Thanks.

Re: Check for Updates
I don't want people to use old versions that have known errors. Why wouldn't you upgrade?
Re: Check for Updates
Yes that's fair enough, thanks. None of the features I use have any known errors, and I prefer to update when there is a new feature available that I wish to use - for example your introduction of the COMMAINDEX function recently.
My feeling is that in general software gets updated too frequently these days, which rather dates me as a dinosaur I suppose. I am more a Waterfall methodology person than an Agile one, which, again, probably puts me out of touch. I regretted updating FH7 a little while ago as it appeared to introduce more bugs than it fixed. I appreciate the testing and beta releases you do for AS which in my experience goes beyond what FH does, however I still prefer to update at my convenience.

Re: Check for Updates
Agile is all about continuous updates which is hardly the case with AS (unless you get involved in beta testing). Some years I've issued no updates and others a few times a year but certainly not extremely frequently. I would guess I updated AS about 5 times last year which is possibly the most ever (this is not counting beta tests which are not publicised through the 'check for updates').

Re: Check for Updates
Im sure the dozens of us who spent months on beta testing v7 will be delighted to hear how little you think if our work.

Re: Check for Updates
It’s a bit Catch-22, isn’t it? FH7 was very rough around the edges when it first came out and took some months to mature and make the upgrade worthwhile, but you need to release it into the wild in order to get the wider feedback. Two years on, there’s no doubt it’s a much better product than FH6.

I have my answer to the original question, thanks. It's not something I need to debate further but thanks for your input.
