When editing details in the top grid, attempting to use CTRL+C instead of the buttons throws an exception.

Thanks John. I've tried this with various combinations of text not selected and selected, columns, rows, cells, multiple cells, etc. and haven't managed to reproduce this. If you're able to find a set of steps to reproduce this I'd appreciate it.

Nick

I had the same issue today. I thought it was JOOTT.

Steps I took

Entering 2021 England census
I entered the data and made a mistake putting the Employment location in the Ages of Children input box.
I did a CTRL x to cut it to paste into the proper input box
I got the same error message
Clicked Continue
The Ages of Children box then cleared and I successfully pasted it into the Employment location input
I successfully saved the census entry

I have not tried to reproduce it as I had to go out. I will try tomorrow.

Seems to be easily reproducible. All my sources are rich text and I was working through converting to make the individual links - I'm not sure if this is significant. I went back to a fully converted and linked source.

It happens if complete cells are selected in the top grid and you then hit CTRL+C. E.g.

The number of cells doesn't make a difference (1 or more fails).

If text within a cell is selected it doesn't fail.

I'm just not seeing this error at all. I assume you are using v7.6.6? 64 bit? Anything unusual about your set up?

Nick

I'm using 64 bit 7.6.6 on Win11 and also can't reproduce this.

Yes, 7.6.6 64 bit.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit - fully up to date - version 22H2, OS build 19045.2364. Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0

I've tried it on the Sample project and it happens on there. I just selected the first census record, highlighted a couple of cells and hit CTRL+C.

I can't think of anything particularly unusual about my setup. The only possible thing is that the project is on a mapped network drive (P:) on my NAS box.

There is a bit of a delay before the message pops up - about 5 seconds.

I'm on the exact same version of Windows and AS as John and can't reproduce the problem in my project or the sample project.

Sounds like maybe there is a problem in the computer setup somewhere.

I've added some code into AS for the next version to catch the error if it occurs so hopefully you shouldn't see the message. I've really no idea why you're experiencing this though.
