My first reaction is that would make sense, but some users may claim they cannot read the Rich Text windows.

I wonder what happens when Rich Text Notes/Text From Source are included in Reports when scaling is not 100%?

A little experiment suggests that Rich Text is included in Reports using the Font defined in the Options > Format tab.
If the Rich Text font is 1 pt larger than the Rich Text window default then in the Report it is 1 pt larger than the Format tab font.
So scaling has no detrimental effect on including Rich Text in Reports. It only upsets the Rich Text window for tables.

However, I tried a small table with all the defaults, 100% scaling, Tahoma 10 pt, and reduced the column widths so the text just fits. Then in the Report set the Options > Format > Section Data to Tahoma 10 pt. The text in the table does not quite fit!
I had to make all the columns a little wider, or reduce the Report font point to get the text to fit.

Ah OK, well spotted. This seems a bit of an odd way to apply scaling doesn't it? If I change scaling on my PC it doesn't suddenly change the size of my fonts in Word documents - they are still size 11 (or whatever), they just look bigger on the screen.

That certainly does seem to be the issue thanks - and yes it does seem an odd way to apply scaling!

Interestingly my scaling was set to 105%, and when I hit the reset button it reset the figure to the same 105%. I had to manually type 100% in to get it to function. I must admit I have no recollection of setting it to 105%. My eyesight is not a problem, so I have no reason to select any increased scaling, and no other progs that I use are (knowingly) using any scaling. I therefore do not know if it was set to 105 on install.

Anyway thanks to everyone who helped, problem seems to be solved.
