Census Conversion

Having watched the tutorials a couple of times, I've now had a chance to look at a couple of Census Conversions. Looks great so far.
Can I just confirm that I cannot convert a Census which is already Rich Text, but has not Hyperlinks solely to add the hyperlinks?
I cannot see anything in settings or in help, so I assume this is not an option, but I just wanted to check I wasn't missing an obvious answer.

No that isn't possible (at least currently).

I really wish I'd done hyperlinks once they came available. I manually used AS to redo the original plain text ones to RT but didn't consider links at the time. Having used them in notes and other transciptions and seen how useful they are, I regret that decision.
I watched the intro video although I've been using it since it was just census capture. Good job Nick, pacing is good and is well presented. I'll have a look at the others for any tricks I've missed.

No promises but I have been thinking through how I could implement adding the links to an existing rich text census source without needing to do massive amounts of work. What I think I'd do on the screen if the source text is already rich-text, is that I'd strip out all the rich-text features of the existing source text and turn it into plain text, converting the rich-text table into a bar/pipe (I) separated plain-text table and then just use the existing mechanism to convert it back into rich-text but with the hyperlinks in.

I think that's the approach I'd take if doing it. After all, you already have the plain to rt process in place. So, no point in replicating it. Also, you'll have control over the rt to plain text, so should be able to generate 'ideal' plain text to feed through the existing conversion.

As ever, this would be appreciated. Thanks for your commitment to the AS product.

I copy the link text into the Note section when using AS then when finished run. Then run Mike Tate's "Move Note URL to Rich Text Web Link" plugin to convert them to active hyperlinks.

Chris and Colin are referring to the links to individuals that AS generates rather than links to a website.

Nick,
I am another one that regrets not having created the links to an Individual when doing the conversion. If you do find a way to add them after the fact that isn't too difficult to do, that would be nice to have.
Thanks,
Bill
