Places on census templates

Post by mezentia » 28 Oct 2022 09:09

IN FH I have three columns for places, Village/Town/City, County, Country, and places appear with these three elements when I use AS to create entries. However, I would prefer that the automatically generated transcription text omits the Country. I know there's an expression for use within FH to select elements of the place name, so my question is can I use the same expression in AS to populate the autotext generated during the creation of an entry, and if so, where do I make that change?

Have you checked the AS Tools / Options / General Settings - source text / Census: 'Where Born' Shorten option?. This puts Place data up to the second comma in the auto-text "Where Born" grid column.

Thanks - I thought I had looked at all those options, but I missed that one.
