* Adding names to existing census record
Adding names to existing census record
Using AS, I created a 1940 (US) census record but missed some children because they were on a following page, which I did not see until I had saved the record in AS and gone back to FH. Is there a way to edit the exisiting record in AS? If I add them in FH, how can I get the information from the census for these addition children into FH? Thanks.

Re: Adding names to existing census record
You cannot 'edit' an entry in AS. You would have to start over from scratch and replace the original Census events.
Remember that you can do whatever AS does entirely in FH without AS at all.
There are several steps to achieve the update in FH.
I assume you are using the popular Method 1 and still using FH v6.2 as stated in your Profile on the right.
1) Source record
In the Source record, on the Media tab, add a new Media entry for the extra Census page.
In the Text From Source add extra rows for the extra children.
2) Children records
If they don't exist then add the extra children to their parents.
3) Census events
Find the Census event in one of the parent's Facts tab and use the Copy Fact button.
Then in each Child record Facts tab, use the Paste Fact button and adjust the Age of the Child in the Census.
That should not only add the Census event to each Child but also the Citation of the Source record.
4) Birth events
If the Children have no Birth events then in AS you had the option to create them.
In FH add a Birth event to each Child with a Date Year and Place derived from the Census data.
In the Sources For pane of the Census event use the Copy Citation button and in the Birth event use the Paste Citation.
5) Occupation facts
I assume the children were so young as not have an occupation.
But if they did then add Occupation facts and Citations similar to above.
That process illustrates how much AS does for you.
