Creating an Ordinal Date phrase

Working in AutoText for Births, if I create a phrase using
{DATEREGISTERED.MONTH.SHORT} {DATEREGISTERED.DAY.ORD} {DATEREGISTERED.YEAR}
then the date appears with a double space between the day and the year, as in
This happens with Date, and with Marriage Date as well. It looks wrong to me but there may be a good reason why this should happen.
