Keywords

Post by sueherrington99 »

Following discussion in the General Forum, Mike Tate suggested I post this problem here.

I have Preferences in FH set to "Copy Image Tag Values to the Media Record" which should merge any existing keywords with auto-generated keywords.

However, although this works when adding images directly into FH, media added via AS does not produce the desired result & only the auto-generated keywords appear.

Has anyone found that this "Preference" works for them via AS?

I would imagine that the 'copy image tag values to the media record' is a feature in FH which copies those tags at the point that the image is added to FH, it doesn't retrospectively apply it. There isn't an option to do this currently in AS - it isn't a feature of FH that I was particularly aware of and isn't something that any AS users have requested before as far as I can remember. I'll add it to my list of possible additions for the next version.

Cheers

Thanks for your reply Nick. It's not a priority for me, more a curiosity really - thanks for the explanation.

Remember that CP did say they had referred this issue to their developers when I first reported the issue, and sent them a sample file. To be fair to CP, that does not mean that there is a bug/error/whatever.

Yes, I remember ColinMc so perhaps that's why adding images directly into FH is now working. Have you found a difference between drag/dropping images & adding via AS?

But you said in your earlier post that you were still on V6. Has it been updated?

I haven't checked if there is a difference with AS or non-AS on V7. I'll try later

Just to be clear, in case of confusion, If the image is added in AS it will not copy any tag values from an image into the FH image record as explained earlier. So if you have images in FH that were added by AS then it is expected behaviour for those tags not to be there and certainly shouldn't be flagged as a bug to CP. However, if you have the option selected in FH and added the image in FH and the tags are not there then that does sound like a FH bug.
