Ancestral Sources Data Entry Plugin for multi-installed AS

Post by tatewise » 03 Mar 2021 19:36

Nick, I have updated the plugin to let the user choose which of several installed copies of AS is to be invoked.
It remembers the choice for subsequent runs of the plugin.
To change the choice use the Restore Defaults button.

In all other respects, it is the same as before.

See attached Ancestral Sources Data Entry plugin Version 4.9.1 Date 03 Mar 2021.

Are you comfortable with this version to be published in the Plugin Store?
i.e. Does it let you use the Plugin with two copies of AS installed and you are happy with the wording of the prompts?

Yes it works for me thanks Mike. If it helps, you could get the current release version from https://ancestral.fhug.org.uk/version/update.xml.

I'm confused.
Following your link to https://ancestral.fhug.org.uk/version/update.xml it says <Version>7.1.3</Version>
Following its Download link to https://fhug.org.uk/kb/link/ancestral-sources/ it says Ancestral Sources v7.2.4 a later version!
It is that FHUG URL that the Plugin checks for the latest version and is the target of its Download button.

I'm literally releasing the new version as I write this - and I obviously have to update the download pages first before updating the XML file :)

Ah, OK.
I think I'll leave the Plugin using the link to https://fhug.org.uk/kb/link/ancestral-sources/ which is then the same for both the version check and the Download button rather than have two different URL involved.

No problem, I just wondered if it would be more reliable to use the XML in case the formatting changes on the kb page.
