Hi Nick,
Has any consideration ever been given to supporting input of Marriage Banns?
I have a few in my sources, but they have been created the long way in FH and I thought it would complete the AS set of BMD type sources that are currently available, and uses a sub-set of the information the exiting marriage entry uses.
I've come across two ways they are recorded in parish registers (so far), one is as a stand-alone pre-printed entry similar to the pre-printed marriage records. The other is as an additional couple of lines at the beginning of an otherwise standard marriage record. I'm thinking pre-1812 registers here.
It would probably need to allow Banns dates to be added on a marriage entry to support the second version. The first would appear to need a new input screen using some of what a marriage already has.
There would be the question of what event to record as some people may prefer a single event using the first date, and note for the other information, while others like myself may prefer an event for each date all referencing the same source.
Anyway, just food for thought as a potential future addition.

Chris, there was a quite lengthy discussion about this in a post from 2017 where I asked a similar question.

Ok, so I found it and read it. Long and covers lots of things I had thought about. It does seem to be a knotty problem to do right for every case. So, I'll stick to my various auto-text templates and fill in the missing bits, which is mainly dates to copy paste the output to a manually created source record etc.
