Auto-Text Template Editor loosing focus

Hi,
I started getting a very annoying problem when using the auto-text editor. I'm not sure exactly what triggers it as yet, but this is a heads-up and initial report.
When working on that template that I posted on the '{' problem thread, at some point it started behaving oddly. At first I thought I was hitting a line length limit or template size limit as I was typing but the changes were not happening. I then realised that every time I typed a character or made a change in the edit window at the top, it would do that one change and then the cursor focus moved to the preview window at the bottom. You then have to click it back to the edit window to type the next character etc.
This occurs with/without a valid set of data in the main app, and no error blue message showing. It happens with normal text as well as keys/functions edits.
With an empty template, it works as expected and you can type away as normal, and I've tried modifying some of the other pre-canned ones as a test, and they seem fine as well. There seems to be something about my template that ends up leaving the cursor in the preview window after re-rendering it when anything is typed.
I will try and trim the template down to isolate the problem to a minimal example to make it easier to investigate, but thought I'd at least give you an early warning.
