I've only noticed recently whilst going through my tree from A-Z that when I've added a census on the AS plugin, I fill in all the information according to the template including the address; however, when I save and close the AS plugin I notice that in FH7, it not only shows in the 'place' the town, county and country but in the address, it shows the road and also the 'place' again?
Is there a way to stop this duplication or do I have to delete the duplicated 'place?'

First point is that the AS Plugin merely invokes the Ancestral Sources (separate) application - it is not an application in its own right!.

What template are you referring to, and, perhaps more importantly, what format do you enter the Place and Address details in AS, and what format do you store them in FH?. I use just the baseline AS V7 (viz. none of the new V7 Source Templates) and Place / Address data is stored in FH V7 in exactly the format I enter it in AS.

I use the latest AS Data entry-1, since I updated to FH7 and it is that which updates the FH7 program once I save and close it and I fill in the template as it says.

Ancestral Sources Data Entry is a Plugin that simply runs the Ancestral Sources program with some presets.
What we need to know is what template you use in the Ancestral Sources program and what you enter in what boxes.

At the risk of being moaned at, a screenshot of the AS dialogue would help us understand your problem and reach a solution for you quicker than a long-winded question and answer discussion.

As Brent says, you are actually using my software called Ancestral Sources. The plugin you referred to (AS Data entry) is just a simple little plugin which runs Ancestral Sources from within Family Historian - it's not actually required and doesn't change your family records in any way. It is slightly frustrating to spend 1000s (?) of hours writing this software only to find that people think the plugin is doing the work!

The recommended way to use the place and address field is to enter the place (town, etc.) into the Place box and the house/road/church address into the Address field. So, for example, you might enter this into the Census place/address in Ancestral Sources:
When you save the entry, the contents of the place and address boxes in AS will go into the place and address field in the Census facts that you see for each of the individuals you selected. If you're seeing the place duplicated in the address field then that's how it must have been entered in AS - this isn't something that AS would do itself.

I feel sure that I submitted a reply but doesn't seem to have 'stuck!'
On looking at a person on FH7 for the census, I see the attached.

Did you already have 36 Melbourne Road, Eastbourne, Sussex, England as an address, in that full form, in FH? If so it probably auto-completed when you started to type "36 Melbourne..." into the address field in AS.

If you normally only put the house number and street in the address field, you can remove the "Eastbourne, Sussex, England" part from the address by using Tools>Work with Data>Addresses and editing the address there.

Next time you use AS to create census entries take a careful look at the Address field in AS before you save. Make sure it contains only the house and street number. If it tries to aut-complete with a full address which contains the place name as well, that means you must already have the address in the long form in FH.
