Just noticed that the Splash screen (or intro screen) used when running the Ancestral Sources Data Entry Plug-in, still says V4.7, even though I am running 5.3.

That's correct as that is the "Ancestral Source Data Entry" plug-in version no. NOT the Ancestral Source version no.
