Is it possible to amend the auto text section of the above so that the surname appears prior to christian names?
Thanks

Sorry No, as that is all hidden inside the {CENSUSGRID} keyword.
Most Census records have forename first and surname last.
It is only the 1939 Register that reverses the order.
{CENSUSGRID} caters for both, so needs some extra settings governed by the Census Year templates.
That was never thought of when AS was designed because the 1939 Register had not been released then.
It is perhaps something the author Nick Walker might consider for the future, so try emailing him.

Thanks for the quick response Mike, I was half expecting that answer. I'll email Nick to see if he has any thoughts on amending that particular template.
Kind regards
Margaret

Thanks Margaret for this suggestion earlier in the year. In the next version of Ancestral Sources it will be possible to specify in each census template whether the name should be displayed with surname first or last.
