I have decided to give AS a go, but I have hit a snag straight away, so I think I have missed something.
I already have 8 census sources (one per year, from 1841 to 1911) in my FH project, with close on 700 citations. I would like to add new citations to the existing sources, but AS seems to insist that I create a new census source.
Is there a way that I can get AS to use the existing FH sources?

Yes, AS defaults to Method 1 'splitters' Source mode, which usually suits Census and BMD records better.
That is because you put the Census household image & transcript in the Source record once, rather than duplicated in each Citation.

However, its Tools > Options allow Method 2 'lumpers' Source mode to be chosen for each type of document, and that will match your 8 Census Sources.

You will also need to review, the Tools > Options > ... > Method 2 settings to best match your Citation strategy.
i.e. Where do you attach images and transcript text, and what Source Title format do you use?

You may have to experiment a bit to get them to match.

That has answered the question, and i can now beaver away with AS which will save a lot of time.
I did look at the knowledge base, but when I clicked "general settings" I couldn't see method 2 in the drop down menu, so I assumed the option should be set elsewhere.
