Accessing AS via FH Internet window

Post by stewart60 » 10 Jan 2015 18:31

I have always used AS using Google Chrome as my browser. I rarely (if ever) use IE.

I have been using FH v6 and looking at Internet>Open web search window.

When I try to access AS it doesn't recognise who I am and I have no means of accessing without downloading again and this simply replaces my previous download!

I wanted to bookmark AS to retain it within the list on Internet>Open web search window>search the internet

Help please!
Thanks
Stewart

I'm a little confused -- AS is a program that runs on your PC, not in a web browser.

Go to this page to download AS

http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id ... al_sources

Choose the version you need (32 or 64 bit), it will the open a Save As screen, choose where you want to save it eg. desktop.
Once saved, go to this location, double click on the file you just downloaded and it will install AS onto you computer.

Once installed there will be a new item on your Start Menu somewhere called Ancestral Sources, you can start it from there.

Alternatively, there is a Plug-In for FH called Ancestral Sources Data Entry which you can download and install, and it will add an entry onto your FH Tools Menu so that you can start AS from within FH, with the currently selected individual already set in AS, and with the AS operation already selected (Census, Baptism etc).

You do not start AS via the Internet>Open Web search window.

PS once you have installed AS you can delete the file that you downloaded - that's the installer program.
