I have just been creating a death entry for one of my ancestors who was married 4 times.
In the auto text it stated her name as the first of her married surnames not as her maiden name or as her final married surname.
No big issue as it is easy to edit the auto text but surely it should take the maiden name as that auto text?

Re: Possible bug with v4.5?
On the grounds that Death Certificates (and maybe Parish Registers) record the married surname of women, I suspect AS is trying to mimic that, but is probably overlooking multiple marriages.
Nick will no doubt comment, but AS always advises that Auto Text is rarely a perfect transcript and will usually need editing anyway.

If, Like I do, you use AS a lot, then the data in the file can end up out of sequence, even though it shows in the correct order in FH. It is worthwhile re-ordering out of sequence events, or you can get the symptoms you are seeing.

It doesn't show the maiden name because you have the use last married name for deceased female option set. Ancestral Sources will look at all the marriages and selects the surname of the person she married in the final marriage. So you may wish to check that the order of the marriages is correct in Family Historian.Valkrider wrote:I have just been creating a death entry for one of my ancestors who was married 4 times.

If you look in Family Historian and view the deceased woman in the properties window, does the order of the tabs for the 4 husbands reflect the true order of the marriages? Or alternatively if you view her in the focus window does it show the 4 marriages in the correct order?

Nick
Thanks for that, I missed that setting. I have changed the option now.
It has taken her earliest married name that I have recorded in FH, there was one earlier marriage that I have been unable to trace documentation for, so all I know currently from the records is she was married but not to whom or when.
