Marriage witnesses are invariably relatives of either the bride or groom. How can the following be entered via AS
1..At the time the marriage details are entered in AS there is no known relationship between witnesses and bride or groom,so the the "just a name -not in file " is chosen but later in research it is found one or more witness is related. Can this be edited in AS?
2..Only one of the witnesses is related to bride or groom, how is this handled?
Thanks for any input

Re: Marriage witnesses.
Apart from adding Media images, AS is not able to edit your FH data. AS is designed purely to simplify the initial data entry of common data sources.
It is important to understand the FH structures that AS creates, because it is those that you must edit to make changes, as if you had created those FH structures yourself.
To add the new relation, add the new Individual and link them to the bride/groom as you would any new relation.
You may also want to edit the "name only" data wherever that was created.

Re: Marriage witnesses.
Download Ancestral Sources and play with it on the Sample Project. That way you will be able to see what it does without impacting any of your data.
Basically you can add a witness as either related or unrelated whichever is appropriate. If it is a related person they should already be in the file, if not then you can add them.

Re: Marriage witnesses.
016hnoor your FHUG Profile on the right says you are using FH V3 that does not support Witnesses as such. So you can only use custom Facts, Associated Person, or local Notes. If you have upgraded to FH V6 that does support Witnesses, then on this webpage use User Control Panel > Profile > Family Historian Version 6 and Submit.
Whe entering a FH V6 Witness to a Marriage Event (or any other Fact) you can either just enter their name or link to an Individual Record.
If related to anyone in your data, then just add the usual relationship links between Individual/Family Records you would use if they were not a Witness.
