Hi there
Recently started using AS with my Family Historian software.
I don't find AS easy to use at all.
For example, how can I see the censuses and records that I have already made? Where do I find them? I would like to add someone to a census record that I initially missed off.
I don't find the AS help very useful either........it's probably just me.
Thanks for any help.
Amanda

Have you had a look at ancestralsources:index|: Ancestral Sources?
Basically, all of the data you have entered using AS will be stored in your GEDCOM file and can be edited using FH.

Re: How do I make amendments on AS?
Ancestral Sources is an add on to Family Historian for initial data entry ONLY, once you have entered a census, simply add people you missed directly into Family Historian adding the created Source record. For example, how can I see the censuses and records that I have already made? Where do I find them? I would like to add someone to a census record that I initially missed off.
Have you watched all the Video tutorials in the Knowledge base and the additional information there?

Re: How do I make amendments on AS?
On overview of the process might be helpful. Capturing a Census Record is one of the most intensive data entry functions in any genealogy program.
A Source Record must be created with a linked Multimedia Record image of the Census, and a Text From Source transcript.
Then for say the Head of household a Census Event, and Occupation Fact, and maybe an updated Birth Event must be created and linked via Citation to the Source Record.
This must be repeated for each member of the household, perhaps even creating new Individual Records and Marriage Events, plus linking Children to the family.
This can all be performed within FH itself, but gets a bit tediously repetitive.
AS is meant to make short work of that activity, but subsequent amendments must be done in FH.
See the ancestralsources:index#user_guide|> Ancestral Sources - Tutorials which illustrate the process and explain where the data ends up in FH. For Census Facts there is an accompanying animated video tutorial.
