Error message when adding images to exisiting sources

Sometimes when I try to add an image to an existing census source I get the error message:

"You can't choose images as there are census facts which do not have
matching dates and/or places and/or addresses"

All my census entries have been made using Ancestral Sources Recording Method 1.

I can't find any differences between the census sources which allow me to add images and those which don't.

Any suggestions please?

After AS opens, you choose Type: Census top left, and then choose a Source underneath.
In the central pane AS lists all the Facts linked to the chosen Source.

Check all the Census events listed in the Fact column have identical Date, Place, and Address details.

If any of these fields differ then AS complains with the error message you are getting.

Thanks, tatewise.

I thought I had done all that. Next time I find a census where I can't add the image I will look more closely at the Census facts and make sure they are the same, and report back if I have a problem.

Why would they not all be the same if I have added them using AS?

The most obvious reasons are:
  • One or other of those Census Event Year, Place or Address fields have been manually edited by mistake.
  • The Source Record has been manually cited by a Census Event for a different Year, Place or Address.
