In their infinite wisdom FMP only had one image for a census which is what I used to create an entry. With further research I found 5 more children and now have the proper 2 page census images from Ancestry.
Is there any easy way to edit the source created by AS or will I have to edit the source in FH?
* Add additional children to census entry?

Re: Add additional children to census entry?
I usually find FMP does have both images for a household, and you can use the Next image option or from the online Transcription click the Image link next to the children.
Unfortunately, AS cannot Edit a Source Record.
You could enter the entire Census from scratch using both Images and the full Transcription and I believe AS offers to replace the old Source Record & Census Citations with the new ones, but it think does not adjust any Occupation, Residence, or Names entries.
On balance it is probably easier to edit in FH.
Updating the Source Record is easy by editing its Text From Source and adding a Multimedia image.
You will need to add the 5 children Individual Records and their Census Events and Citations by hand.
However, the Census Event with its Citation can be Copy & Pasted from any other family member.
Let it be reminder how much work AS actually saves.

Re: Add additional children to census entry?
As an aside, I normally check a page either side of a Census page, neighbours can often reveal "extras", my ancestors were not against farming out children to the neighbours, mind you they did specialise in having between 10 and 15 children.

Re: Add additional children to census entry?
Thanks for the replies.
The image is actually missing on FMP it goes from 0353 to 0355 (number on the side of the scanned image) when you select next record. The image was also wrongly linked to the record being taken to 0351 when clicking the image link on FMP. I have reported it to FMP. Just another of their problems post their upgrade I suspect.

Re: Add additional children to census entry?
I've another but similar problem. just entered the 1871 census for a male ancestor who remarried on AS, then just as I'd saved it I noticed that it was showing him as a Widower instead of married-how can I amend this?

Re: Add additional children to census entry?
AS tries to determine the Married status from your database records.
Since the 2nd wife had not yet been entered, AS was presumably showing him as a Widower because his 1st wife had died.
Remember that AS has no database for Individuals or Sources itself.
It simply provides a more convenient method of adding data to your FH database than doing it directly in FH.
So to make any post-AS changes means editing the FH data directly.
That is why the ancestralsources:tutorial:census:examine_family_historian|> Ancestral Sources Tutorial ~ Enter Census ~ (7) Examine Family Historian explains where the AS entered data ends up in FH.
So to change the Married status from Widower to Married, open the Census Source Record that AS created and edit the Text From Source to change the W to M in the grid.
The above assumes you are using Method 1 with a separate Source Record for every Census Household.
If using Method 2 then the change will depend on which option you chose in AS.
Either repeat the change in the Text From Source in every Citation or make the change in the shared Note Record.
