* Message on opening AS

I am mostly using AS via the plugin for FH v5.

When I do so I get a message that tells me that a new version (4.2) is available. The screen that then opens tells me that I am on version 4.0 (despite having downloaded 4.0.1) and that a later version 4.0.0 is available for download.

When I go to the download page I am only offered 4.0.1

What am I doing wrong or is this a bug??

It is a common misconception to mix up the AS Plugin with the AS Program.

The AS Plugin you are using is version 4.0 and it is only designed to work with AS Program version 4.0.0.

The AS Plugin has moved on via version 4.1 to version 4.2, which should be downloaded from the FH Plugin Store.

Alternatively, you can occasionally use the Check Installed Plugins Against the Store Plugin to ensure all your Plugins are up-to-date.

You have correctly downloaded and installed the latest AS Program version 4.0.1.
The report from your out-of-date AS Plugin is a misnomer.
It was only intended to be used with AS Program version 4.0.0 - sorry!

So update your Ancestral Sources Data Entry Plugin from the Plugin Store where you obtained version 4.0 and all will be well.

Explanation:
In those earlier AS Plugin versions the latest AS Program version had to be manually edited into a new version of the AS Plugin. The later AS Plugin versions now automatically detect when the AS Program download version is updated in the FHUG Knowledge Base.
