* "Occupation" Issues

Just noticed a couple of small issues with AS:

1. I have a chap whose occupation was previously recorded as "Labourer in Brick fields" or "Labourer on Farm". When recording a Baptism for one of his children his occupation was noted in the register as "Labourer". However, when I try to input this AS insists on putting either "Labourer in Brick fields" or "Labourer on Farm" and when I try to delete the additional words they are highlighted but I cannot delete them. The work around at the moment is to insert an extra space after "Labourer " - a total of two spaces.

2. Entering the Death Certificate of a Widow the Auto Text shows "wife of ..." (lower case 'w') instead of "Widow of ..." with an upper case 'W'. Does this require a change to the auto text template?

I don't see that issue. I can click at the end of the Labourer on Farm and delete the additional characters. Alternatively I can clear the field and type in Labourer. It suggests Labourer on Farm but if I stop typing when I've type Labourer then hitting the backspace or delete key removes the 'on farm' bit as I would expect. I should also add that I'm just using a standard windows 'combo box' (or drop-down list) and it automatically suggests an entry that matches from the contents of the list, so any odd behaviour you might be seeing isn't down to anything that I've done wrong (on this particular occasion!)

Yes the template could be improved. When I put that template together I hadn't considered that the wife/husband might be deceased. Of course you can just edit the source text before you've saved it to change wife of into Widow of. I think it is unusual for the source wording produced by autotext to exactly match the original certificate so I find I almost always need to edit it in someway before saving the entry.

Yes, I was wondering if the first problem is caused by Crossover. When I start to delete the extra text the letters are highlighted but don't delete. This show the cursor positioned immediately after the last "r" of "Labourer" after deleting from the "d" of "Brickfield":

A possible related issue is that when I start to type an occupation or address AS offers to complete and the cursor jumps to the end of the text instead of remaining at the input point:
