Census, baptism and marriage records

Post by rodit » 19 Oct 2013 04:55

Nick
Why is it necessary to remove all prior sources when using AS to enter the above records? In some cases I have a number of sources for some of these events which were then 'lost' when AS created a new entry.
In some cases I have started copying the'old' ones and pasting them back after AS has done its work (and very good work it is).
Regards
Roger

This problem is already discussed in the Saving Existing Marriage Citations (4934) thread, and is due to be fixed in the next release of AS.

In the meantime, one workaround is to use the Change Any Fact Tag Plugin to change the affected Standard Events into Custom Events, and run AS to enter new Standard Events.
Then you can more easily copy any details or citations from the Custom Events to the new Standard Events and eventually delete the redundant Custom Events.

Thanks Mike
I obviously missed the earlier posts - at least I am not on my own!
Looking forward to the upgrade
