After running a query to find people in censuses or anything else, the people come up in the query but when I set the flag to add the icon it doesnt show on the diagram. As far as I know I am doing everything correctly (I have got many icons on my diagram)but just lately I cant get it to show for some reason.

Please can anyone advise, I can see the icons in the project folder but nothing is happening.

Triple check the Icons are on the Same names as the Flags in the individuals.

Flags and Icons are two different entities.

Adding a new Flag to Individuals will not add an Icon to Diagram Boxes unless you tell FH to do so in the Diagram > Options > Boxes > Condition > Record Flag > Edit Condition > Edit Features.

Sorry Jane I have made a new query, deleted the old flag and made a new flag with exactly the same name as the query. Is that what you mean? Think I am missing something here as it still wont work. There are only three people with this flag, individuals in the 1910 USA census.

Thanks Tatewise, I have made the flag/icon in diagrams as you say, as I always do, but for some reason, and I am doing everything as I usually do (so far as I can remember) but nothing is happening. Getting a bit disheartened now but it must be something just so simple I am missing.

The problem is not with your Flag but with your Diagram Options.

Open the Diagram and use Diagram > Options and select the Boxes tab.
Select the Condition called Record Flag then click <<Add Condition and choose Record Flag.
From the drop-down list choose your new Record Flag name and click OK.
In the Box Features window select the Icon you want and click OK.

You now have a new Flag: tab for your new Flag, in addition to any others that existed before.
Click the Edit Features button to change the Icon or other box features to associate with this Flag.
The above process must be repeated for every different Flag Name you add.

To remove the Flag: tab, use Edit Condition and Delete button.

Thanks for trying to help Tatewise, I have done all that, which I have always done in the past, but for some reason, it just wont work. Have even downloaded a new set of icons into my project folder but it just cant see them. As far as I can tell my other icons/flags work okay.

I had exacty the same thing happen last week. I simply couldn't work out why it wasn't working, so in the end (in desperation as much as anything), I closed down FH and then restarted it and it all worked perfectly.
Hope you get it sorted out.

I have deleted all flags and icons to do with America and started from scratch. It works ...... thanks so much for your help everyone.
