Kinsfolk queries problem

Post by Dagwood » 30 Mar 2012 22:51

I'm making good use of the two Kinsfolk queries but find it annoying when using them on my netbook and try to adjust the column widths. Unlike, I believe, all other queries they have a pop-up reminder that no changes can be saved and this has to be cleared each time a column is changed. Is there any way I can switch this off or can it be changed to appear just once if at all?

Kinsfolk queries problem

Post by tatewise » 30 Mar 2012 23:07

I believe this is a side effect of the method of download & install, and the browser used to perform the download.

This is particularly true if the download was performed during the early phase of FH V5 Beta Testing, where similar problems were experienced with Plugin downloads.

The problem is that the Query (.fhq) file has the Read-only attribute set by mistake.

To correct this, right-click the Kinsfolk Census To Do Table.fhq file and select Properties.
Untick the Read-only Attribute near the bottom and click OK.
Repeat for the Kinsfolk Census Done Report.fhq file.

These files will be found in the C:ProgramDataCalico PieFamily HistorianQueryCustom folder on Windows 7 or Vista.
See Program Data Folder for further details and the Windows XP folder path.
