Picture error message

Post by Lowfamily » 15 Aug 2012 13:22

I last created a website on 3 Aug.  Now, on 15 Aug, I am unable to create one.  When I attempt to do so, I get error message 'Picture file not found.'
Since creating the last website, I have added a couple of pictures, I have deleted at least one, and I uninstalled Kodak EasyShare (but none of my photos were on EasyShare, they are all in a folder in Windows Explorer.)
I have FH v 5.0.7. Windows7 Home Premium

I am not a techie.  What can I do to create a website as I used to be able to do?

Thanks in advance.

First look at the Tools>Work With External File Links and look for any images with red x's next to them and use the re-map button to fix the link to the images, some graphics applications move files around on the disk, this is why V4 and V5 use Project Folders to try and avoid files being moved around by other applications.

Also...

In Step 4 – Add Items for Table of Contents do you add any Image that links to a photo/image file?
If so, then check that the image file still exists.

In Step 5 – Create Home Page do you chose a Home Page Picture?
If so, then check that the selection is still valid.

Thank you for your prompt reply and your suggestion. I followed your suggestion which reminded me that I had slightly changed the name of the folder in which I keep my Family History photos. I changed the path for the homepage and the individual page artwork, as you suggested, and that appears to have done it for me.
