It would be a good idea to have a new main menu item be added to point to media rather than have the media included on the front page of a generated website.
I have modified the html coding to do this on my FH generated websites but it would be so much better to do this automatically.

Hi,
Is it possible you could go a bit more into depth with the requirement.
What I would like to do is translate it into the format:-
Requirement - high level explanation of the wish
Problem/Reason - pros/cons of doing it
Possible Solution - Doesn't need to be long and if you have an example, that would be good.
I'm hoping that laying out the requirement like this will aid people when they vote.

Chris, I think what birdman is requesting is an Index Page similar to the Index of Names page, but for Multimedia Images entered using Wizard Step 4 - Add Items for Table of Contents for multiple Picture Image items.
I imagine a similar need could arise for other Table of Contents items, such as Downloads or Reports.
I believe this could easily be added to my Improve Website or CD DVD HTML Plugin, with options to choose which classes of Table of Contents items are required to have a separate Index Page.
I believe the best approach would be to add extra entries to the menu bar that currently includes HOME | CONTACT | STATISTICS | INDEX.
This could result in a menu bar such as HOME | CONTACT | STATISTICS | PICTURES | DOWNLOADS | REPORTS | INDEX.

Tatewise has described exactly what I had in mind. To do what I did in creating an extra menu item for pictures meant that I had to recode all the web pages and add the images each time. This is a lot of work and could be automated or even the coding reworked so that the images are only added once. Here is a sample of the coding to add the menu item called Photos:
Code: Select all
<div id="menubar">
<ul>
<li><span><a href="index.html">Home</a></span></li>
<li><span><a href="_contact.html">Contact</a></span></li>
<li><span><a href="_statistics.html">Statistics</a></span></li>
<li><span><a href="_photos.html">Photos</a></span></li>
<li><span class="fhmenuend"><a href="_nameindex.html">Index</a></span></li>
</ul>
</div>
You then need to create a new html page called _photos.html
which uses the following coding to include 4 photos called Photo 1, Photo 2, etc:
Code: Select all
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title>Index</title>
<myta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="fhstyle.css" />
<script type="text/javascrypt" src="lytebox.js"></scrypt>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="lytebox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
</head>
<body>
<div id="header">
<img src="defaultlogo.jpg" alt="logo" class="logo" />
</div>
<div id="menubar">
<ul>
<li><span><a href="index.html">Home</a></span></li>
<li><span><a href="_contact.html">Contact</a></span></li>
<li><span><a href="_statistics.html">Statistics</a></span></li>
<li><span><a href="_photos.html">Photos</a></span></li>
<li><span class="fhmenuend"><a href="_nameindex.html">Index</a></span></li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="FhTOC">
<p class="FhPageTitle">Contents</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="toc1.html">Photo 1</a></li>
<li><a href="toc2.html">Photo 2</a></li>
<li><a href="toc3.html">Photo 3</a></li>
<li><a href="toc4.html">Photo 4</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
</body>
</html>

The updated
Improve Website or CD DVD HTML V2.3 Plugin offers what you have described, except that it uses the word
Pictures instead of
Photos, and entitles the new page as
Table of Pictures.
It also offers a similar feature for
Reports and
Downloads.
Additionally, it adds a link into the
Home page
Contents for each
Table of ... page.
