I have tried, and failed, to set up a query showing people in my tree that I have a direct relationship with.
I would also like to be able to run the query for other people in my tree who would be the 'File Root'
I would very much appreciate any help - I'm afraid I am a litlle bit 'IT challenged'

Relatives Query
I have the relationship to me (actually the Root, but that's nearly always me) in a number of places. Here's two.
1. Query
Get your query up and make a new expression
Give it any heading you like
Put this into the expression (copy it to your clipboard and then paste it is easiest)
=Relationship(FileRoot(),%INDI%,TEXT,1)

2. In main list of records
Right click on any of the Grey boxes above the record. Choose Configure Columns
Select Relationship To Root and click the > arrow in the centre of the popup. Move this column up or down to where you want it.

By the way, if you type Relationship To Root in the search box on the right of this screen, you'll see a few posts where others have asked the self same thing.

Relatives Query
Chris has told how they are related. I presume the standard All relatives is showing too many people.
How direct a relationship are you looking for?

Also, depending on what you want to see, the FH V4/V5 Focus Window, shows immediate relations on the Ancestors and Descendants tabs, for whoever is selected as the Home person.
