Media- Link/Note
I have a number of documents (BMD Certs, Census etc)which have the Link/Note after each media item and can not see in the Getting the most from Family Historian 5 book what has caused these messages.
In the Multimedia Records window, under Linked Records & Notes I have the persons ID Record icon (Curtis, Albert) and underneath him Link/Note.
Sorry if my explanation is not what you need, I am fairly new to Family Historian. Any help or comments letting me know what to do would be most helpful.

You some times get these if you merge in another file with media at use the Autosource option. If you click the + next to the link note is there a source attached?
As media records do not support having a source attached directly FH creates a blank note to attach the source to.

Jane, Thank you for reply.
I did carry out a file merge with media at the Autosource option. I did click + next to the link note and no source is attached. Therefore, I guess I will have to attach the source for each record manually?

Further to Jane's explanation, it is quite usual to have a Link/Note item for every Individual or Family or Source Record that the Multimedia Record is linked to.
This is more clearly shown in other windows.
If you double click on any Record in the Multimedia Records pane of the Multimedia Window then its Property Box should open.
Click the All tab and all the items are displayed in full.
Each Link/Note item relates to a link from another Record (Individual, Family, or Source) and often includes the title of that other Record.
But sometimes they are just redundant Link/Note items that are no longer required.
It is best to leave them alone and just let FH manage them.

Mike, Thank you for your reply and sorry for not replying sooner.
I first noticed the Link/Note funny after I copied my file as recommended in 'Getting the most from Family Historian5' page 175 Splitting Files. I did this in order to create a GEDCOM file to make a new Project to send to my sister, it was the copied file that had normal Linked Records & Notes plus the Link/Note without any media linked.
I ignored this as you suggested but wondered why when making a copy of a Family Historian file. Perhaps this is normal procedure with Family Historian5?
However, I have to say that my experience using FH5 is much better than using Family Tree Maker 2010 and will recommend this software to anybody wanting to record their family history on their own computer.
Again, thanks for your reply.

Brian,
I presume you used the File > Split Tree Helper or the rather simpler File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File.
Whichever you use, where Individual/Family Records are deleted that were linked to Multimedia Records, then the redundant Link/Note entries that linked to those Individual/Family Records are not deleted.
If confident that is what they are, then they can be individually selected and deleted by using the keyboard Delete key.
But I would not bother.
This appears to be a minor bug in FH that I will report to Calico Pie, and may get fixed in a later update.

I have written a Plugin to delete redundant Link/Notes, which I will publish here after a bit more testing.
Download Plugin from my SkyDrive via Delete Redundant Link Notes and double-click popup to install in FH.
Running the Plugin gives options to either delete the redundant Link/Notes, or simply list them in a Result Set.
If the Link/Note has a Source link, Source Note, or Note Caption, then it is listed, but never automatically deleted.
Selecting any Link/Note field, and clicking Delete key, will manually delete the Link/Note field.
