Working on a surname-specific project that's trying to find living descendants in the male line, it occurred to me to check if there's a Diagram Options route to hide offspring with the 'wrong' surname. Seems not.
Don't suppose there would be widespread support for this as a FH enhancement?
That does remind me of other issues that have come up from time to time:
* a compact pedigree of the male line only
* ditto for the female line only
What I mean by 'compact' is that the single person (or couple) per generation would align in a vertical column, with column breaks to spread the whole lineage over the width of a physical page.

That's easy enough to do, just use the mark option with a custom query to select all the females, select marked boxed and hide marked ones.

This will hide Males born out of wedlock who retained the name, if it's for DNA project these don't apply anyway. If you need them might need to 'turn back on' Mothers of these children, or use a query to simply hide every one with the wrong surname, but this would mean the diagram had females on and might need another query to hide them excluding ones whose first child's surname was the one you want.

Depending on what you really want here there are a couple of options, 1 a simple plugin (if you want an indented report) or 2 a query which would be easy enough to write.
There are a couple of queries in the Knowledge base already for this.
