Date Project Started?

Post by Rusty » 05 Aug 2023 10:50

Is there any way of knowing the date that I started a new project rather than when my project was updated.

Thanks

Margaret

I can't think of a reliable way. It's not stored in FH. You could check the "Date Created" of the project file in Windows Explorer, but that would only be the date that copy was created. It's the latest it could be, but if it is a copy of an earlier file, the original date is lost (AFAIK).

The earliest "Updated" in the Records Window is another indicator, but that only shows the earliest record change, not the creation date.

Thank you Mark, I just thought that it would be nice to see a 'started' date as well as a 'Last Updated' date.

Margaret, I'm not sure how you intend to use that project creation date.
You could use the Header Record to record such information.
In the Records Window on the Headers tab you will find the Header Record and can open its Property Box.
( If the Headers tab is not shown then use Tools > Preferences > Records Window and set Header: Always Show )
In the Header Property Box, the File Description field can hold any project details such as the creation date.

Alternatively, you could create a freestanding Note Record with project details such as the creation date.

Thank you Mike, it was really just for interest.
