How do I reorder (a)a female with illegitimate children born to an unknown partner to (b) husband with their later children?. Is their a way of putting an event (apart from Marriage) so that dates can allow a reversal of the unknown partner and the husband.

If there are not enough dated facts to automatically sort things then use the Methods for Reordering 4th, 5th & 6th options to use the curved up/down arrows to manually move items.
In your specific case, the female presumably has two partnerships shown in the Focus Window and her Property Box has two Spouse tabs. So use the Spouse tab curved up/down arrows to manually move the partnerships into the desired order.
